Nail Sizing Guide
To find your size, hold each strip over your nail before peeling it off and choose the one that is the same width or slightly narrower, never wider. A strip that touches the skin at the sides or cuticle will lift, so if you are between two sizes, always go smaller.
Every Velvora gel set has 20 strips in mixed sizes, plus a nail file and a manicure stick, so there are spares to choose from across all ten nails.
What's in a set?
- Gel nail strips: 20 strips in mixed sizes, a nail file and a manicure stick. Cure for 60 seconds under a UV or LED lamp.
- Nail polish strips: a range of sizes in real nail polish. No lamp needed.
- Pedicure gel strips: the same semi-cured gel, shaped for toes.
How to find your size
- Lay out your strips, still on their sheet, so you can see every size.
- Starting with your thumbs, hold a strip over the widest part of the nail, from sidewall to sidewall.
- Pick the strip that matches or is just narrower, leaving a tiny gap at each side.
- Do this for every nail. Your two hands often differ, so don't assume the left matches the right.
- Only then peel and apply, one nail at a time.
Prefer to measure?
Lay a thin strip of paper across the widest point of the nail, mark both edges, then measure the gap in millimetres with a ruler. Compare it with the strips on your sheet and pick the closest one that isn't wider.

The fit rules
- Same width or narrower, never wider.
- Leave a tiny gap at the cuticle and along the sidewalls.

- Never stretch a strip to make it fit. It pulls back and lifts.
- Overhang at the tip is fine. Fold it over and file downwards to remove it.
Fingers and toes
- Pedicure strips are shaped for toes. The same fit test works, starting with your big toes.
- For toes, trim the nail straight across and make sure your feet are completely dry before applying.

Common questions
What if no size fits my nail exactly?
Go one size smaller. A slightly narrow strip is barely noticeable, while one that touches the skin will lift early.
Is there enough in one set for a full manicure?
Yes. A gel set has 20 strips in mixed sizes, so you have more than enough to cover ten nails and choose the best fit.
Does the same method work for toes?
Yes. Hold each strip over the nail, choose the same width or narrower, and file away the excess at the tip.
Why are my strips lifting at the sides?
