Products and how they work
What are semi-cured gel nail strips?
Real gel polish, cured to around 80 per cent in production so it arrives as a flexible strip. You press the strip onto your nail, then finish curing it under a UV or LED lamp for about 60 seconds. The result is a hard, glossy gel manicure that wears for up to 14 days. Every set includes 20 strips in different sizes, so each nail gets a proper fit.
What is the difference between gel strips and nail polish strips?
Gel strips are real semi-cured gel: they need a quick cure under a UV or LED lamp and wear for up to 14 days. Nail polish strips are real nail polish in a peel and press strip: no lamp, no drying time, on in minutes, and they cost £5 a set. Our two ways to mani and pedi guide compares them side by side.
Do I need a UV lamp?
For gel strips, yes: a small UV or LED lamp finishes the cure in about 60 seconds. Our compact 12W USB-C lamp folds flat and is included in the starter kit. Nail polish strips need no lamp at all. The lamp guide covers wattage, cure times and safety.
Do the strips work on short or wide nails?
Yes. Each set carries 20 strips in a range of widths, and strips trim and file to your own nail length and shape. The nail sizing guide shows how to match sizes first time, and we have dedicated guides for short nails and wide nails.
Do you sell pedicure strips?
Yes, semi-cured gel strips shaped for toes. They apply the same way as the fingernail sets and suit sandal season and holidays especially well. Browse the pedicure collection or read the at-home pedicure guide.
Are Velvora gel strips TPO free and HEMA free?
Yes. Velvora semi-cured gel strips are formulated TPO free and HEMA free, and are cruelty free. The full ingredient approach is on our product safety and ingredients page.
A design I want is out of stock. Will it come back?
Usually, yes. On any sold out product page you can leave your email and we will send one message the moment it is back on the shelf. Popular sets do sell through quickly, so the alert is worth setting.
Applying your strips
How do I apply gel nail strips?
Clean, dry nails first. Pick the best fitting strip for each nail, smooth it on from cuticle to tip, trim the excess, cure for about 60 seconds under a UV or LED lamp, then file the edge to shape. The whole set takes about ten minutes. The step by step application guide covers every detail, and getting started covers nail prep.
How do I apply nail polish strips?
The same idea without the lamp: prep, warm the strip between your fingers for a few seconds, place it 1mm off the cuticle, press it smooth, then trim and file. The polish strip guide walks through it, and every polish strip product page carries our two step how-to video.
My strips are lifting, wrinkling or bubbling. What am I doing wrong?
Nearly always preparation or curing: oil left on the nail, a strip stretched too hard, or a cure cut short. The troubleshooting guide diagnoses lifts, chips, wrinkles and bubbles one by one, and the edge sealing guide fixes a corner that lifts mid-wear.
How long do they last?
Gel strips wear for up to 14 days when applied to clean, dry nails and cured fully. Polish strips are lighter wear, and a glossy top coat extends them. The habits that get you to the full fortnight are in how to make gel nails last longer.
How do I remove them?
Gel strips: a few drops of cuticle oil around each edge, lift gently with the wooden stick and peel away. No acetone, no soaking, no drills. Polish strips: wipe with non-acetone remover. Both methods are shown in the gel removal guide and the polish removal guide.
Is there a guide for complete beginners?
Yes: gel nail strips for beginners covers your first set from unboxing to removal, and the starter kit bundles two strip sets, the lamp and a cuticle oil so nothing is missing.

Orders
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If it has not been dispatched yet, usually yes. Email orders@velvora.co.uk with your order number as soon as possible and we will do our best. Once a parcel is with Royal Mail we cannot change it, but the returns process below has you covered.
I did not receive my order confirmation email.
Check spam or junk first, and that the email address on the order is right. If nothing has arrived within 30 minutes, contact us at support@velvora.co.uk and we will resend it.
My address is wrong on the order.
Before dispatch we can fix it: email orders@velvora.co.uk immediately with the order number and correct address. After dispatch, changes are down to Royal Mail and cannot be guaranteed.
My order arrived damaged or something is wrong.
We are sorry, and we will put it right. Send a photo and your order number to support@velvora.co.uk and we will send a replacement or refund the item. Faulty items are always covered, opened or not.
Returns and refunds
What is your returns policy?
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can cancel most online orders within 14 days of receiving them, no reason needed. Items must be unused, unopened and in their original packaging; products sealed for hygiene reasons cannot be returned once opened unless faulty. The full policy is on the refunds and returns page.
How do I start a return?
Email orders@velvora.co.uk with your order number within 14 days of delivery and we will reply with return instructions.
When will I get my refund?
Once your return arrives back and is checked, the refund goes to your original payment method. If you paid partly with a gift card, that part goes back onto the gift card. Banks can take a few extra days to show the credit.
Payments, discounts and gift cards
Which payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, Revolut Pay, Amazon Pay and Link. Everything runs through Stripe, and card details never touch our servers. Prices include VAT.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes: choose Klarna at checkout to pay later or split the cost. Klarna’s own terms and eligibility checks apply.
How do discount codes work?
Enter the code in the discount box at checkout and the total updates immediately. One discount code per order, and seasonal offers such as our multibuy promotions apply automatically without a code.
How do Velvora gift cards work?
Choose any value from £10 to £200 on the gift card page, add a personal message, and the card is emailed the moment the order is paid, to your recipient or to you to pass on. It is spent in the gift card box at checkout, whatever is left stays on the card for next time, and it never expires.
Can I use a gift card and a discount code together?
Yes. The discount code prices the order, then the gift card pays for some or all of it. If the card covers everything, there is nothing to pay at all. The one limit: gift cards cannot be used to buy more gift cards.
Velvora Rewards and referrals
How does Velvora Rewards work?
Join free and get 100 points immediately. You earn at least 1 point per £1 on everything you buy, rising to 1.25 points as a Nail Lover (£75 lifetime spend) and 1.75 points as Nail Obsessed (£150), who also get free UK delivery on every order. Points exchange for money-off codes: 100 points is £5 off, 250 is £15, 500 is £35. The whole programme is explained on the Velvora Rewards page.
How do I earn points besides shopping?
The rewards tab in your account has a set of quests: joining the newsletter, completing your profile, following us on socials, plus milestones like your third order. Each one banks points with a single tap once done.
How does the referral programme work?
Your account gives you a personal code that takes 15 per cent off a friend’s first order. When that order is paid, 200 points land in your balance. Share it as often as you like; the code lives in the rewards tab of your account.
Do my points expire?
No. Points stay on your account until you spend them, and redeemed codes are yours until used.
Your account
Do I need an account to order?
No, guest checkout works fine. An account adds order history, saved delivery details, a faster checkout, and Velvora Rewards points on everything, including 100 points just for signing up.
I forgot my password.
Use the forgotten password link on the sign in page and we email you a secure reset link. Check spam if it has not arrived within a few minutes.
How do I change my email, name or delivery address?
Everything lives in the details tab of your account: email, name, password, default delivery address and marketing preferences.
