Choosing your bridal nails

Milky and sheer
Milky white and sheer pink are the bridal shades of the moment. Bare Beauty and Snow Pearl are opaque and creamy; Crystal Clear and Barely There let your natural nail show through.
A softer French
A micro or soft French looks modern next to a classic white tip. Nude Ombre blurs the line completely, and Silver Lined French Tip adds a fine sparkle that catches the ring.
Pearl and lace
Pearl finishes echo pearl jewellery and lace detail echoes the dress. Vintage Lace and Lace Me Up keep the pattern to a few nails so it stays delicate.
Something blue
For a hidden nod to tradition, swap one ring finger for a pale blue such as Cloud Nine, or wear blue on your toes and keep your fingers classic.
Bridesmaids
Bridesmaids look lovely in the same shade family as the bride but not the same set: a soft pink or nude ombre beside the bride’s pearl or lace, so the bride still stands out.

Bridal nails for the bride, bridesmaids and the ring

Bridal nails are quiet on purpose. A milky nude, a soft French or a pearl finish looks clean in close-up ring shots and works with any dress, flowers or jewellery.

The same edit suits bridesmaids on the day, and newly engaged hands too, when the ring is about to be photographed from every angle.

Bridal nails should be soft and timeless: milky nudes, sheer pinks, a fine French tip or a pearl finish, so they look as right in the album in twenty years as they do on the day.

Because Velvora strips go on at home in about ten minutes, you can do a full trial a few weeks before, then apply your wedding set a day or two ahead. Each set is real semi-cured gel, HEMA free, vegan and cruelty-free, and lasts up to 14 days on fingernails, often longer on toes. That takes you from the vows into the honeymoon.

When you are home and ready for a change, a few drops of cuticle oil around each edge lifts the strips away, with no acetone and no soaking.

Good to know

Should I do a nail trial before my wedding?+

Yes, it is worth it. Try a set three or four weeks before to check the shade in daylight and get used to applying it. Each set has 20 strips in a range of widths, so a trial also shows you which sizes fit each nail.

When should I apply my wedding nails, and will they last through the honeymoon?+

Apply them one or two days before the wedding. Velvora gel strips last up to 14 days on fingernails, and often longer on toes, when applied to clean, dry nails and cured fully, which covers the day and most honeymoons.

Do my toes need to match my fingers?+

Not exactly, but they should feel related. Many brides wear a soft French or pearl on their hands and a pale pink or pearl on their toes. Our pedicure strips come in matching shades such as Rose Pearl, Pink Ombre and Classic French Tip.

What nails suit an engagement photo?+

A glossy milky nude, sheer pink or soft French keeps the attention on the ring and flatters every stone and metal. Keep them short and neat, and apply a fresh set a day or two before any photos so the edges are perfect.

What nails should bridesmaids wear?+

Bridesmaids usually wear something softer than the bride or in the same colour family: a sheer pink, nude ombre or a French with a fine silver line. It ties the group together in photos while the bride’s pearl or lace still stands out.
